The impending 2023 BMW M2 appears to be the final non-electrified BMW M auto, with potential overall performance styles to go hybrid.
In an interview with German publication Bimmertoday, BMW M CEO Frank van Meel confirmed the new M2 would be the brand’s last car not to attribute any form of hybrid support, as it designs to carry out 48-volt programs into extra of its styles.
“The BMW M2 will definitely be a purist driving machine with its straight-6 and rear-wheel generate,” explained van Meel. “We will see raising electrification in other autos, of class in distinctive kinds, setting up with the 48-volt electrical program and plug-in hybrids to fully-electrical drives.
